Y2K Update
Hey guys, Y2K update is here 🥳 Quick summary:

This update does not contain any new roles. While there are currently 5 new roles that have entered sandbox without being fully released, your feedback and our feeling has been that these roles aren’t quite ready just yet, so we’d rather have them undergo a few more changes before getting another chance in sandbox. But this update is far from empty, check out the changes below and also the rather loooong list of quality of life changes at the end of this post! 😊

Free weekly advanced roles
Every week you can claim three free cards that will unlock one random advanced role each. These cards stay in your inventory for one week before expiring. Free cards cannot be upgraded and cannot be used to upgrade other cards.
Time to try some of those advanced roles you might not yet have! 🐺
Veteran badge rework
Previously one veteran badge was given for each 365 daily rewards a player claimed. This led to some confusion, hence, starting today, one veteran badge will given for each full year since the account was created, assuming that the player has unlocked at least 50 levels per year.
In addition, player profiles will only show the highest veteran badge to avoid badge spam.
Previously unlocked veteran badges remain unlocked.
Easier role cards upgrading
If you have a lot of role cards and want to upgrade them to a high rarity, combining all cards can be a hassle and usually requires to first upgrade a bunch of other cards before being able to upgrade the card you actually care about.
With this update cards being selected to sacrifice no longer need to be of a specific rarity, but instead can be anything below the target rarity. For example if you want to upgrade a card to legendary, you can sacrifice epic, rare and even common cards!
The total number of cards need to sacrifice remains the same, so if you intend to upgrade a card to legendary with common cards only, you will need to select a loooot of cards to sacrifice.
Grid wars
Similar to row wars this game mode changes which team you belong to. During the first night and day you fight with your row to be the last row standing. On the 2nd night and day you instead fight with your column to be the last column standing. Night three you are back to row teams and so on 🤯
Other stuff
Role changes:
- Vigilante, pacifist and wolf pacifist reveal is only visible to themselves
- Wolf summoner cannot revive night 1
- Profanity filter covers both jailer and warden chat
- Indicator for swamp wolf if their own vote is faked
- Jelly wolf will no longer have to reselect who they want to protect every night. Their selection will stay active until triggered or until changed
- Sorcerer will be disguised as seer if no other informer role is present in-game
- Warden easier target selection during the day
- Vote to skip discussion is disabled in a 1v1 with illusionist
- Headhunter receives a system message with info about their target at start of game
- Fleeing headhunter targets will have their death delayed until the start of the night to prevent fleeing being used to rob headhunters of their victory
- Fleeing influenced targets will have their death delayed until the start of the night
- Option to permanently hide arsonist ignite hint
- Witch protection system message contains target username
- Slightly moved marksman mark to avoid blocking voting sign
- Pacifist, wolf pacifist, vigilante, loudmouth and bell-ringer can reveal players that have already been revealed
- Wolf scribe will see zombies killed by werewolves as “attacked by werewolf” instead of decayed
Other changes:
- New mentor system, say hi to our lovely mentors! Inside the app click on “?” then “Talk to a mentor” to enter the support chat
- Sending gifts between friends is possible without having loyalty tokens if players were friends for 30+ days
- Multiple role icons for one role can be equipped, with one being selected at random when a game starts
- Faster “Open all” for calendars and loot boxes
- Challenge button has a small indicator when something can be claimed
- Inventory button to remove current tag filter
- Small xp boost for evil alliance on game over (e.g. if serial killer wins then werewolves will get more xp as compared to village winning)
- Custom games have their pinned message carried over from previous games
- Private and clan chats: messages are grouped if sent in quick succession
- Long-pressing overlays in-game will hide them completely
- List of all quests shows if a quest is a gem or gold quest
- Shop list of all calendars shows a preview of the calendar instead of a generic text
- Reports in-game can be made in any language and no longer must be English only
- Setups for advanced and ranked games will change every week, similar to quick games
